A taxidermy winged rat

The Alarattus or Pterattus (plural: Alaratti or Pteratti), also known as the Winged Rat, Flying Rat or Rattavolans is a small, winged creature that is a rat with feathered wings of bird's or bat’s. These bird-winged rats are so tiny (compared to that of winged mice) than normal earth's rats.

The word Alarattus is in Latin and it means 'winged rat' (ala: wing, rattus: rat). And Rattavolans is also in Latin, it means 'flying rat'(rattus: rat, volans: flying).

Geez...no, it's not pretty at all. They're...they're...they're rats with wings.

Pigeons were dubbed as “rats with wings” by Woody Allen in the 1980 movie “Stardust Memories,” as is commonly thought, but by NYC Parks Commissioner Thomas Hoving in the early 1960s. The context was a couple of cases of meningitis that were mistakenly blamed on pigeons.
