Bažaloshtsh - Described as dwarfish humanoid females with long hair, these Banshee-like faeries are found in Eastern Germany where they will sit underneath the window of someone who is about to die, wailing terribly in the night. Their name means 'God's Plaint', and they are mostly mentioned in the folklore of the Wend people. The meaning of their name could suggest that they may perform some kind of vengeful function as well as wailing for the dead.
