The Wolpertinger is a chimerical animal of German folklore. Its form may vary but it is generally depicted having a rabbit head, squirrel body and tail, pheasant legs and wings, deer antlers, fangs and sometimes, webbed feet. They originated as a result of a romantic relationship between a Hare and a roebuck (which influenced the mating of other woodland creatures that made several hybrids and mutants) and are often found in the forests of Bavaria and only appear to beautiful maidens within the secluded parts of the forest on a full moon. Methods of capturing the creature may vary. Usually, these creatures are harmless to humans, as they often feast on herbs, roots and insects, but if their saliva touches human skin, it can cause thick hair clumps to grow in the affected spot. Additionally, some may have the ability to spray like a skunk. In that case, the odor lingers for around 7 years on the affected person.
